HBOHBO® (Home Box Office®), a subsidiary of Time Warner, Inc., is America’s most successful premium television network offering award-winning original series including Game of Thrones®, Boardwalk Empire®, True Blood®, The Sopranos®, Six Feet Under® and Sex and the City®. In addition, the network provides original films, miniseries, documentaries, concerts, family and sports programming as well as blockbuster theatricals.

SoftSol undertook a major Legacy Modernization project for HBO. The subscriber community for HBO obtains its services via multiple distribution channels and service providers. HBO had a Forte based application for billing its service distributors and managing complex business deals. With Sun Microsystems phasing out support for Forte, HBO needed to replace the existing backbone application with Java technologies. An automated migration service from SoftSol migrated the existing Forte application to deliver a reliable application within a stringent timeline and budget.
